Biography

Jérôme Perez is Head of Sustainability at Nestlé Nespresso SA, the worldwide pioneer and reference in premium portioned coffee, and is based in Lausanne,
Switzerland.
Mr. Perez is responsible for defining the global sustainability strategy for Nespresso. He oversees the planning and implementation of the company’s sustainability strategy, The Positive Cup, a platform to work together with business partners, stakeholders and innovators to help ensure that sustainability is integral to Nespresso daily business decisions.
His team ensures that the company operates in a way that seeks to improve its environmental performance and to positively impact stakeholders throughout the value chain. One of the key elements in this process is to make certain that the company achieves its main sustainability ambition of increasingly source the highest quality coffee from the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program, enable a responsible management of the aluminium, encouraging the recycling of all Nespresso capsules, and reduce the carbon footprint of every cup of Nespresso coffee, implementing solutions for climate adaptation
Mr. Perez and his team also lead projects and extensive dialogues with community leaders, universities, NGOs and farmers to ensure that the company’s approach is creating share value for all of those who have a stake in the overall value chain.
Mr. Perez identifies one of the highlights of his current role as the interaction that he has with coffee farmers and the satisfaction of seeing the impact that the AAA Program is having on their lives.
Prior to being appointed at Nestlé Nespresso in 2008, Mr. Perez spent six years as Financial Control Director for Nestlé Waters in France and Belgilux. He started his career at Perrier and held a variety of roles within Nestlé Waters.
